Ready About Sailing At Long Point State Park

Absolutely visit this place! The food is reasonably priced, making it the best value around Lake Chautauqua. The 2020 season was their most efficient; everything ran smoothly even during the pandemic. The staff is great, and the owner's frequent presence made a noticeable difference. I highly recommend it. Be sure to try the breakfast burrito—it's a must-have!

My family has kept our boat docked at this location for several seasons now, and it's always been a wonderful experience. The park features lovely walking and biking trails that offer stunning views throughout. It's an excellent spot for a picnic or gathering with friends and family. The boat launching ramps are the best on the lake, making it convenient for boaters. Additionally, the park hosts several fishing tournaments each year, which is entertaining to witness, especially during the weigh-ins when you can see the fish that have been caught. Overall, it's a fantastic place to unwind and appreciate nature.

We stumbled upon this state park during a spontaneous trip to New York, just for the sake of it. The park has one drawback: a lack of facilities. The only restrooms we could find were at the marina, and unfortunately, they were closed. Aside from that, the park is incredibly scenic, with plenty of lovely spots for walking and even for pushing a stroller. Lake Chautauqua is especially stunning on a sunny day. To top it off, we were able to park for free thanks to the governor's executive order! I may not often speak highly of Governor Cuomo, but he was right to make state parks more open and accessible to everyone.

I absolutely adore ordering food from this place! The owner is both creative and delightful, and the food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. If they have the ingredients on hand, they'll custom-make whatever you desire—whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Tonight, we enjoyed a grilled cheese with bacon and jalapeños, accompanied by loaded fries. Their homemade green chili is the best I’ve ever tasted, and I can't get enough of it. This place is definitely worth a visit!

Lake Chautauqua is a fantastic spot for kayaking and fishing. It was quite busy today, being a Saturday, with a lot of activity around the area. The state park itself is lovely. Please note that the entrance fee for 2021 is $7.
