We loved their breakfast for the short period of time that they offered it. The seasonal menu is always exciting to see and I hope I'll be able to return someday.
Ciao Thyme is one of those local legend restaurants that for a variety of reasons I just never seemed to get around to visiting until recently. In a way, maybe I was avoiding it. Not because I didn 't want to experience its rumored amazingness, but because maybe I was a little afraid I 'd be disappointed. 'Cuz when EVERYONE says a place is fantastic, well, that sets the bar pretty high! So I went. Finally. A lunch date with the dude several months ago. We got there right when they opened so we wouldn 't have to worry about a long line so we were literally the first to order! Their menu rotates regularly, so (unless you do some research in advance) you don 't really know what 's available until you arrive. They do this on purpose so they can provide the absolute freshest, most in season ingredients possible. And that first trip didn 't disappoint. We shared a GIANT bowl of ramen, and a couple of sides. Oh and I indulged in a pre noon glass of wine. The service was impeccable (including a personal visit from the owner/chef), and the food was just as EVERYONE said it would be: fresh, local, and divine! Round two at CT came just last week. A friend invited me out to lunch and I was more than happy to say yes. We arrived later in the lunch hour, so it was busy and we had to wait a couple of minutes for our table (which was no big deal), then soon our lunches arrived. We both got the beet balls (think meatballs but, well, you get it now). I confess I was a little hesitant, but they were delicious. And they were served in a presentation that was so beautiful I didn 't want to disturb its beauty. We skipped the wine this time (darn work), but it was still a delightful experience with the same friendly, efficient service that can be a rarity around here. My only complaint about Ciao Thyme (and I 'm sure they hear this often) is that they aren 't open for dinner! They do plan special dinners, though, which can be found on their website. I seriously can 't imagine how over the top wonderful these dinners must be, considering what perfection my lunch experiences were. Ciao Thyme, you don 't disappoint! Can 't wait to go back. Anybody free for lunch?
These guys are awesome. They are basically my personal chefs at this point and have catered for me multiple times. Their waffles go absolutely crazy. Some of my favorite people that create some of my favorite dishes!
Ciao Thyme catered my Aunt's wedding and it was spectacular. The building is gorgeous, well lit with a great view of Bellingham. It's also roomy, we had around 50 people and it wasn't crowded at all. The food though, I had a moment... or two. Simply amazing. The star for me was the Paella, it was possibly the best thing I ever ate. And as if that dish wasn't good enough, it had a star of its own, a Grill smoked black cod that was so moist and flavorful everyone in the room was crooning about it. Ciao Thyme Commons has to be on your list of venues for your next event. The owners and all of their staff are amazing, you won't be disappointed.
This spot is every bit as good as good as other reviewers have noted! The menu changes frequently as different ingredients become available and the seasons change. The number of choices on any day are limited, but cover both non-vegetarian and vegetarian offerings. Lots of ever changing choices in the dessert selection. You enter into the small store front where you place your order and pay (and pick up your dessert if you got one) before moving through to the large dining room which shares space with the kitchen. There are a few 4-tops available for small groups and one 8 person table. Most of the seating is at communal tables. Water glasses are available along the wall and silverware, napkins, and water containers are spaced along the tables self-serve. My wife had a nicely garnished pumpkin soup with a side of flat bread. The soup was tasty and sell seasoned. The flat bread was a great accompaniment. It was grilled and had a light dusting of salt. MMM! I had the Moroccan chicken salad. This was warm slightly spicy stewed chicken on a bed of greens garnished with fruit, candied walnuts, pomegranate seeds and other delicacies. An interesting play of tastes, textures, and temperatures. Our cookie choice was a corn flake peppermint chocolate chunk. Delicious and perfectly made. Flavorful with crispy edges and a nice chewy bite. These folks really know how to cook. The only downside is that this spot has limited hours currently Tuesday-Friday 11am to 3pm, so lunch only.
