Joe's Family - Belle Plaine

I'm being generous in my review. When we arrived at 6:20pm, there was only one other table of customers, but we decided to give it a try since the sign said it was a Grand Opening. We usually enjoy small, hidden gem restaurants, so we weren't discouraged by the peeling table edges. However, the food was terrible. The salsa was inedible, and the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and corn were all clearly premade and overcooked. The gravy was thick like paste, and the mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

The salsa was inedible, the chicken, potatoes, and corn all tasted like they were pre-packaged and overcooked. The gravy was thick and pasty, and the potatoes seemed like they came straight out of a box. Overall, a very disappointing dining experience.
