We were driving west along the M2 Motorway and the traffic was horrendous, so we turned off the next exit , with the view that we would find somewhere to eat and wait out the traffic snarl. We found ourselves in Beecroft and saw the Tapas and Wine bar sign and thought why not?I am glad that we did. I was a bit cranky because Sydney traffic can do that to you. However our Waiter Jarrod was an absolute delight and may us most welcome. My wife had the mushroom risotto which she thought was delightful and Jarrod sorted out a tasting plate of tapas for me. It was not on the menu, but I think that they should offer a tasting plate so you get a taste of everything. The calamari was to die for and the Buffalo Cheese with prawns was very nice. They had a nice selection of wines as well.I was in a much better mood when I left thanks to some very nice food and Jarrod and when we hit the M2 the traffic had vanished. There were other small groups and its the sort of place that encourages lively conversation, so its worth a visit.
The old Sevardi Italian restaurant wasn't a bad local Italian but this new incarnation as a tapas and wine bar isn't really working. The place lacks any kind of atmosphere, quite bare and cold feeling even though we got the lounge seating in the front room. The 4 of us were feeling cold when the waiter wanted to open the windows for fresh air! We stopped him but turns out the issue was actually all the smoked coming through from the kitchen. No issues with the wine list but the food was pretty average and the service patchy. It would be great to have more options in the Hills and a wine/tapas bar is a great idea but they haven't got the food right and décor is not inviting in keeping with the tapas bar vibe. The website paints a picture of somewhere much nicer than it actually is unfortunately It's not bad, it's just disapppointing. We won't bother going back.
Sevardi Italian restaurant has evolved into a wine and tapas barThe wine menu is interesting and also includes Australian spirits and ciders.
Tony and his team serve incredible authentic Italian cuisine. We have dined here for special occasions in the past, and their takeout is also top-notch!
