Walmart Neighborhood Market - Beaverton

I don't understand why this Walmart doesn't offer cash. They could assist those who ask for help without fear. I'm in a wheelchair due to a serious car accident in 2006 and sometimes use a walker. I come here to pick up my diabetes strips, but I feel frustrated that a business like this seems to neglect the needs of disabled and elderly customers by offering self-service machines that are too large and complex for us to use. I'm only 5 feet tall, and using these machines is a challenge. I believe I shouldn't have to deal with a business that overlooks individuals like me and the elderly. This situation is really disappointing. On a positive note, the pharmacy staff is very nice and helpful.

The bread section surprised me, as it had more stock than other areas of the store. However, I was let down again when I noticed that many of the dates were already expired. I do love the 99 Cent Store, but I'm primarily there for food! They really need to get their inventory and customer service in order. It seems like they aren’t prepared to handle customers efficiently. The prices aren’t any better either; I spent more time searching for price tags than actually shopping. If there are more than four people in line, the staff should be trained to call for assistance at the front. I ended up leaving with my money still in my pocket and went to a different store across the street, where the stock was plentiful, and the staff recognized me and even offered me rewards.

I was new to Oregon and discovered that this Walmart is one of the best I've experienced in terms of customer service and friendly staff. I’ve shopped at Walmarts on the East Coast, but I’ve never encountered employees as welcoming as those here. The store is also well-organized and tidy.
