I would recommend heating for the outside area as the evenings become cool. all in all, I definitely recommend!
Thanks to some previous TripAdvisor writers, I found this small place right in front of the Festival territory. on the first look it looks a little strange when it is confronted with it, a pretty worn brick building and a turtle that indicates that the beer garden is in the inn,... with an arrow provided. and in the did, beer garden it is! the number of dishes is limited (I think only five,) but they are served very efficiently and quickly and the owner is full of sweat and indicates when people should really go to miss the next act of a wagner masterpiece. Of course, the beer is excellent and the building is in fact an abandoned brewery. there is a guarantee for return there again and again. to avoid people going to the festive game to be seen, this is the least posh place in all bayreuth.
This is an old-fashioned type of hostel that were two-one penny when I first moved to Germany in 1987, but unfortunately die in urban areas. the decor is made of a bygone age, even if this age was only the 1960s, but there are. better places for sitting over an excellent glass brewed beer and a good piece of stone, delicious local food. very cheap and the owner also loves to chat.
If they don't want to spend much in the intervals of the bayreuther festspiele, I can advise this pub as the Germans call it. try the curry sausage with pommes!
Our group went to the Kropf which is under new ownership. It is under new ownership and called Mohrenbräu. It is still the closest place to the Festspielehaus on your way into town (Hollander Stuben is now closed). The prices are very reasonable and they...have their own craft brewed fass bier here. The owner Klaus Kopszak was charming and friendly. We absolutely loved the leberkase (which contains no liver but mixed meat) with kraut and others savored Kurrywurst and Flamenkuche and the Bayern bratwurst and kartoffelsalat. The beers were fabulous. You can dine outdoors on the weekends but during the week they close the garden early because it is in a partially residential area. If you stop in please send the greetings of the San Francisco Wagner Society to Klaus.
