Ichiban Sushi Grill - Baton Rouge

Be cautious when reserving hibachi on opentable. They display reservation times that are not actually available. We received a call an hour before our reservation informing us of this, and had to engage in multiple conversations with the manager to finally figure out how to accommodate us at a time slot 15 minutes later. This wouldn't have been an issue except it was a reservation for a double birthday party and we had guests driving in over an hour to meet us. Despite technically accommodating the reservation, our party was seated poorly and we waited at least 15 minutes before ordering a drink, another 15 to receive all the drinks, and a total of 45 minutes before we received our food order.

The sushi at this restaurant is not the best in town and I feel it is too expensive. The restaurant could use some improvement. However, the hibachi is consistently good. In general, I find this restaurant to be plain and casual.

The meal was excellent. The Hibachi chef was entertaining and cooked everything just the way we liked it. We will definitely return.

The food was well prepared and delicious. service was attentive and professional. Noise level was the only part. music was so loud that it was difficult to keep a reasonable conversation at the table. it is really distracted from the overall experience.

Eating was good and nice portions. pretty dark lighting for lunch. kellner was good, except that empty plates were not picked up after appetizer and suppe and salat. they were on the table just during the escape.
