**Delicious Food Makes Up for Uneven Service** El Limon is a hidden gem among taco shops in Baton Rouge. While there are a few downsides—like the cash-only payment policy, the lack of complimentary chips and salsa, and overall inconsistent service, with waitstaff occasionally forgetting to offer refills and smiles being in short supply—the incredible food more than compensates for these issues. El Limon offers the best pork tacos in Baton Rouge, and the other taco options are equally delightful. The decor is charmingly kitschy, adding to the authentic taqueria atmosphere. Although it’s a bit out of my way, I always make sure to stop by whenever I’m in the Jones Creek area. Just a tip: make sure to use one of the 3-4 bank ATMs nearby before you arrive. The frustrations of the service are quickly overshadowed by the fantastic food.

I sampled the Menudo and Pozole. While I'm not certain I'd return specifically for the Pozole, the Menudo was quite good. I recommend they work on enhancing the Pozole. I'll certainly come back to give it another try.

This is the top Mexican restaurant in town! The customer service is exceptional. I highly recommend eating here—10 out of 10!

If you're a fan of tacos, you absolutely need to try the tacos al pastor at this place—they're the best in town! The salsa verde is delicious but be careful, as it's loaded with spice and garlic, making it not ideal for those who prefer milder flavors. I’m eager to try the pozole, tortas, and almost everything else on the menu, but I just can’t get enough of these tacos; I even dream about them! Just a tip: they only accept cash, but there are several banks nearby on Jones Creek, so you shouldn't have any issues.
