Capitol Grocery - Baton Rouge

What a wonderful, cute oasis of a place nestled in the middle of a cool, quaint neighborhood near downtown Baton Rouge. This place has so much charm and character. It's not only a grocery store, but they also have a small café and serve breakfast and lunch. While traveling on business last month, I made it a habit to come by every day and pick up lunch for me and several co-workers. This place has great salads, Po Boys, and even a daily lunch special. The food is reasonably priced and the two ladies who run the place are super nice and engaging. I highly recommend you stop by to say hello and maybe even buy something.

Stopped in today and annie was an absolute delight. fantastic smoked sausage po boy. I HIGHLY recommend this grocery. im hoping to move into the nieghborhood

Adorable, kitschy and unique spot. The flamingo sauce and breakfast are my favorite things here Owner treats everyone like family!

This place is just amazing. Came here for a great burger and was not disappointed. Great food. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Will recommend and come back!

DONT GET ME STARTED Love this place. Unique in the best ways..The customers, the staff, and the owners make you feel like family. Incredible menu..top notch burgers, sammies, poyboys..and a french dip worth the trip. The poyboy bread, sourdough, buns, fries, apps everything ive had was very tasty. seriously ... Luch special i ordered had the best broccoli and chicken fried chicken w mashd potatoes. This place is a TRUE pillar of the downtown community and the HEARTBEAT of Spanish Town. Bottom line; 5star but more comfortable. But dont take my word for it, give it a shot they do deliver through waiter.
