A burger from the algonquin park. very fresh as homemade bbq burger, many toppings and great bungalow. fries were mccains from a bag, but properly cooked.
This was definitiw no quick bite . it took 50 minutes to make grilled cheese and pommes! they had about 4 people working in the kitchen, so I have no idea what they did. there were maybe 5 people in front of me. when we finally got the food, we were disappointed by the fatness and overall quality. we will never be too charlie d.
We stopped here looking for a place to lunch before we drove through algonquin. the poutine was very delicious. the one I had was incredibly small, but the sourd was good. the problem was, even though it seemed that, 6 people in. the kitchen to midday and only two people before us, it still managed to take them over 20 minutes to produce some quite simple foods
I've been coming up to a cottage in the Barry's Bay area for the past 5 or so years. Everytime I've been, I've driven past Charlie D's with the family and always wanted to stop in. This year, after some hiking in Algonquin Park, we...were ravenous and settled on this little place to refuel. Now, with Covid, the indoor seating has been removed, but we were lucky enough to get a picnic table outside. The kids got hotdogs and fries (huge portions) and my wife and I ordered a poutine and a dirty dog to share. The wait was a little bit, but, with current pandemic protocols in place and everything, its completely understandable. Staff was friendly, service was good and the food was great. I think we've found a new annual tradition for lunch/dinner after hiking in Algonquin!
