This place is a disgrace. The menu isn't good at all, only pasta and pizzas on it. How about the service? The waiter was a good guy very keen to work but the owner Franco treated him with no respect and it makes me want to go away as soon as possible. I had to wait 30 minutes to get my pasta Carbonara that was served by the owner. He was probably drunk and bothered me with facts about Italy that I really didn't care about. The toilet was also bad with no toilet paper and dirty. Will I go back? Never ever!
How this place is still in business is beyond me. Pizzas were doughy and the owner is an arrogant rude person who doesn't believe in customer service. Move on chief the guy running it before you knew how to make the pizzas and brought the Italian service people expect. Guess he forgot it's the 21st century. When you run a business you better know what your doing. Banyule council need to step in here and kick him out. Will never go back under his ownership. Disgrace
Not very good service. You have to wait a long time for your meal. Meals are good but it is a boring Italian menu, with pastas and pizza and some more, but not much more. I waited over an hour for my meal and wasn't impressed at all.
Franco owns most of Main St so Bellissimo's is a tax dodge. There is no staff because Franco is very rude and nasty and mixes alcohol with his medication and he abuses them especially when he has been drinking. He pays his staff cash in hand if he pays them at all, and he keeps their tips. Franco is very egotistical and if you let him serve you what he feels like, pizza, then you will have a lovely experience as long as you say it is the best pizza ever. As far as pizza goes, it is quite good. As a staff member there, I was appalled at the hygiene. Raw, rotting meat stored with the ham, old rotting food that he cut the mould off and served to the customers, on my first night there I cleaned up broken glass under four tables on the floor that were at opposite ends of the restaurant. I worked really hard, I would have to have an Epson salt bath after every shift. It was not a job it was an obstacle course. A beautiful elderly couple came in for their wedding anniversary and he got grumpy because I was spending too long with them. I ended up leaving when he threw a grilled eggplant in my face and then he refused to pay my wages.
