Owner is friendly and runs the place by himself and we knew this ahead of time so we planned ahead to try to better our experience. First realize that the hours are more recommendations for when he may be there. Came in one afternoon and it was busy do we confirmed that he would be open that night as indicated on their website. We were assured he would be open. Came later that night and they were closed. Came at opening the next day. Owner was open but said it would be at least another hour before he would be ready to serve food. Said we could place an order and he would have it ready. Ordered 2 pizzas and the soup of the day. Attempted to order a third pizza but he assured us there was no way to finish making 3 pizzas in an hour so we stuck with 2. In short the pizzas are delicious but hours are erratic and ordering can be frustrating.
Always delicious!! I can’t wait to have a cappuccino again. They are my favorite!
The food was delicious! I highly recommend. Steve is a very talented person doing this all by himself!
Absolutely amazing! Steve was working by himself the night we stopped by after getting into town. At first we didn't think the restaurant was open, but Steve assured us all was good. We ordered a pizza and the pasta of the day. The pizza, hands down was the best we have had. It was the perfect blend of sauce and toppings on a thin and crispy crust. The pasta was a combination of angel hair, perfectly seasoned tomato based sauce and multiple other ingredients which combined for a flavor packed explosion in each bite. This was the most original and flavorful pasta dish I have had in a very long time. My only disappointment was that Caffe Dio was closed during the remainder of our stay. I would have eagerly gone back to try more of Steve's creations as the food was absolutely incredible.
We arrived at approximately 11:20 am. Upon entering there was a woman at the counter talking to someone we couldn 't see in the kitchen. We stood at the door for a minute or so with her talking, then she turned to us and said have a seat he will be with you in a minute . We were not sure if she worked there or what.... when she left we realized she didn 't. Shortly after a man came out, took a old plastic juice bottle that had the label removed and poured water into two glasses for us and went back into what I assumed was the kitchen. Disturbed by this we didn 't touch it. After a few minutes he came out and asked it we wanted anything today. We hadn 't received menus and I was a bit perturbed by this time so I said we 'd like to know what 's available, we 've never been here before . He said he had pizza and pasta and then went away again and started making a coffee for a customer that had come in during our wait. We saw on a chalkboard Roman style pizza and sausage pasta . We weren 't sure if that was all that was available and didn 't feel welcome at all.... I 've only walked out 4-5 times in my 40+ years on this earth, and my husband was trying to be polite and wait. I said there 's nothing wrong with leaving and I don 't want to give this person my money.. so we walked out. So yes, this is only a customer service review not a food review.. we didn 't get that far.
