Roessli - Balgach

We're really good, the food was good, beautifully presented. Original article in the menu also. This is a very good place for a quality meal.

It was really very special to try in a charming restaurant like this authentic Swiss cuisine. You have a limited menu with a selection of homemade dishes. The wine selection is very varied and I also tried the desserts that were great.

In the very centre of Balgach Restaurant Rössli is located in a beautiful traditional house. Therefore the wooden dining room Gaststube is much cozy with a warm atmosphere. Thumbs up to the waitresses for the very friendly and efficient service. Much appreciated. In the past the owner and kitchen chef Fritz Tatzl worked in another restaurant in Rorschach, which I had already found very good. I am now glad to see that he offers the same excellent quality in Balgach. As starter I chose the salad with caramelized goat cheese, sliced peach and raspberry vinaigrette: flavourful and tasty. As main course the veal steak was truly a highlight: very tender and cooked to perfection. It was served with endives and, interestingly, a beets potato puree. As dessert I indulged myself with a Creme Brûlée topped with dried pineapple and lemongrass jelly. Switzerland is known to have an expensive price level. Rössli is no exception, with the bill amounting to CHF97. Definitely not to everyone’s budget but the great service and excellent food are well worth it.

Food was good, had Zurich Geschnetzeltes. Service very nice. Prices raised.
