Thursday is buffet and tonight is fall buffet. Everything was great and everyone was accommodating. We had a large group and rhey took care of us. Thank you students of the Renegade Room.
We had a fantastic dining experience at the renegade room. This was Basque food night and every dish we had from the soup and salad to the oxtail stew and dessert were fantastic. We also had a great server who took good care of us. The room was warm and cheery, and it was just a great experience.
Great food , great service , prices are reasonable. My wife I, love Thursday night buffet. The students who are learning to be chefs are doing a incredible job .Someday this chefs to be will have their own great restaurants.
Best food on East side of town. Nothing like it!Update: fantastic, as always!
My first trip to the Renegade Room! My friend and I were so jazzed! Buffet was French themed. We decided that we'd sample a little of everything to get the full effect. We got to BC early. Toured the campus. Waited outside the Renegade Room with a handful of other diners until they were ready for us. We were invited in and we were seated. Our server introduced herself and took our drink orders. On our table was an olive tapenade and small slices of bread. We were invited to join the line for the first buffet area. We had a green salad, croque monsieur and potato leek soup. I wasn't so much a fan of the salad. Something in it was grainy and made me think of dirty lettuce. I know it wasn't dirt, but the texture threw me off. Croque monsieur was tasty. How can you go wrong with a ham and cheese sandwich with cream sauce?! Finally, the potato leek soup was nice and creamy and had good flavor. During that first course, Brie en croute with sautéed onions and apples arrived. I took a big bite and tried to dissect all the flavors. The apples and onions were so earthy and went well with the whole thing, but I am not a fan of the rind on Brie. It was a little off putting to me. I ate another couple bites without the rind...so much better! After all that food, the main buffet started serving. French bread, green beans, a potato casserole, coq a vin and beef with beurre blanc. Yes, I took a little of everything. Coq a vin, chicken cooked in red wine with mushrooms and carrots, was my favorite! It was rich and flavorful and it's aroma filled the room. So good! After all that deliciousness, our server wanted to know if we wanted dessert. Omg! No! We ordered both desserts, crème brûlée and crepes Suzette, to try. The crepes weren't too exciting. Kind dry, but had a nice orange flavor. The ice cream helped with that dryness. The crème brûlée was the star! The custard was perfectly cooked and flavored. The sugar was browned and crisp. There was a definite cracking when I dipped my spoon in. I shared, but ended up eating most of it myself. Had I not been so full, I would've ordered more! The students/staff were so friendly and helpful. They all looked so proud of their work. They all did a great job! I'm hoping I get a chance to visit the Renegade Room again because it was such a great experience!
