La Tapatia Mexican Grill - Bakersfield

We visited this restaurant for the first time and would give it a 3.5 stars rating. The shrimp cocktail was small, about the size of a quarter, and the sauce was sweet and possibly spicy. The trio fajitas with steak, chicken, and shrimp were good, but the shrimp came in a white creamy sauce and were also very small. The guacamole was delicious and the chips were great. The rice had good flavor and I appreciated the extra seasoning. The beans were not as flavorful as I would have liked and the cheese on the flour tortillas was not melted. The hibiscus drink was one of the best I've had. The flan for dessert was perfect. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Thank you.

I used to frequent her restaurant on Baker Street in the alley, and I have to say there is no comparison when it comes to the taste of the food. It truly is the best Mexican food in the city!

This restaurant is a hidden gem, known as a "hole in the wall." The Mexican food is delicious and the staff is friendly. I brought my father here when he was visiting and he still raves about the huge wet chili verde burrito he had - it could easily feed two people! Sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but it's not too long unless you come during peak hours. The atmosphere is welcoming, whether you're dressed in work clothes or heading out for the evening. I've never made a reservation, but I'm pretty sure it's just walk-in only. I need to confirm that for sure, but the food is clean and tasty.

I haven't eaten here long. I finished the whole plate, which is very unusual. Don't wait so long next time.

I love this place!!! Thus been my favorite place since I was a baby, this also been my my family tradition for many many years and I have not yet found any other Mexican restaurants that’s topping La Tapatia!???
