Church's Fried Chicken - Baker

This newly renovated church chicken spot is fantastic! The staff is incredibly helpful, making for a quick chicken pickup. Although there was a genuine customer who caused a bit of a commotion, the employee handled the situation with grace and professionalism. The chicken is delicious, the service is excellent, and the place is clean and inviting!

To my surprise, the restaurant had been recently refurbished; it even had a new name since the changes in Texas, along with an updated menu. I ordered the Texas Supreme Sandwich combo, and this led to another pleasant surprise: the sandwich was actually quite good! It featured a piece of chicken breast coated in spicy batter and fried to crunchy perfection. The fries were also quite tasty, though a bit salty for my liking, but overall, they were definitely satisfactory. The only downside was the drink included in the combo—Bland Machine Pop—which could definitely use some improvement. In summary, while it may not be the best fried chicken option in the city, it’s still a pretty good choice. I recommend you check it out for yourself. The restaurant was clean, and there was enough space between the tables for comfortable dining. The staff were friendly and helpful when taking my order. I’ll certainly be back!

I began visiting this restaurant at the start of the pandemic, and it has become a guilty pleasure of mine. I typically order the 5-piece combo with fries. Tonight, I noticed that the quality has improved significantly. The interior looks fantastic after the recent renovations.

It's all good not to be too oily and the chicken tastes fresh.
