Two choices for starter carpaccio beef and pain de tomates avec jambon both wonderful and served with salad two choices for mains brochettes (pork and chicken) and salmon with a mild curry sauce again both delicious. For dessert we had panna cotta and nectarine tart …a wonderful meal, probably best value of any we ate in the Minervois area. At present, it is open Thursday Sunday … you must visit if you are in the area!
You know you are in a good local restaurant, when you are the only non French eating there. The quality of the food was outstanding. The Entrecote steak was the best I have had in my 12 years in France. The ladies fish was well cooked and flavoursome. The €25.00 menu was well worth the money and included an aperitif and wine. Be sure to book. The Restaurant is due to close for the season on 15th October. So go while you still can.
You know the dream which most, if not all, visitors to France have of finding an authentic little restaurant nestled among the vineyards, serving local food to a high standard at a great price? This is that dream made real. You dine outside if the weather is warm which it almost always is during La Maison's season. The wine is included (2 bottles per table), the food is delicious, and most of your fellow diners are locals. It's up to date in that it has wi fi, also traditional, in that you pay in cash or by (French) cheque. But most importantly, it's hospitable people serving lovely food. And now I'm a little worried that I've told the world how fabulous it is!
Set menus and a la carte menu. You probably need your sat nav for this one, but with a set menu from 15 euros including wine, an amuse Bouche and an aperitif, it is excellent value for money. The staff are delightful and will help you through the menu. Outside seating is quintessentially French with lighting in the trees and French style table clothes, they do have plastic chairs on gravel so check your foundations! We had a variety of menus and myself personally had the fish of the day excellent. Needless to say we all went home happy and very full. I understand that this is only open in the evenings and in summer. We will be back and next time we won't leave it until our last night, we will be there on the first and maybe the second!
Visited in a largish group in the evening. Restaurant is on the far side of Azillanet on the road to Minerve. Ample parking. Sat in the courtyard under the trees. Had an aperitif and a lovely amuse bouche of frozen crushed melon. We had the 22 euro menu. Enjoyed my salad and Dorade. Wine is included in the menu
