Galaxy Cafe - Austin

Charming café with fantastic food and a wonderful ambiance. It's not overly crowded, offers great value for the quality of the dishes, and serves cane sugar fountain sodas! A must-visit for sure!

I absolutely love this spot for our family brunch outings. They offer a wonderful selection of delicious, healthy choices for me, while my kids can enjoy classic diner favorites. It really is a win-win situation! They have a whole gluten-free menu, plenty of vegetarian options, and tasty Buddha bowls. Plus, they serve beer on tap and have an espresso machine. I appreciate the atmosphere; it has that diner vibe but with an Austin twist. They also do a fantastic job with takeout and are very family-friendly.

Second time here and still hoping that I will love it but ... nope. There's a good selection of food with menus for gluten free, breakfast and all day. This time I had the veggie burger and my companion had one of the breakfast wraps. The veggie party was horrible dry and tasteless. The wrap was OK but felt like something you could get at the supermarket for half the price. Everything was definitely overpriced for the (lack of) quality. The worst part of the meal was probably the coffee. It was so bad we just switched to water. Service both times was lacking. The first time I was there some months ago, the order taker didn't know basic questions about the food and just stared at me with a frozen smile. This time around, the person didn't hand us order numbers, mugs or silverware, so we had to keep walking to and fro from the counter.
