Cook Out - Athens

Our family has always relied on Cookout for a quick and enjoyable meal, but that wasn’t the case today. We waited nearly 20 minutes for our food in the drive-thru. To make matters worse, one of our trays was completely incorrect; it was nothing like what we had ordered. We couldn’t resolve the issue because the doors were locked! We left feeling very disappointed, though we might consider returning at some point.

They had two drive-thru lines, and I chose the outer one. The car in front of me waited for five minutes without any response from the speaker; no one took their order, so they eventually left and moved to the inner line. I followed suit. When I finally got to the window, the order-taker was somewhat rude and rushed through my order. The customer service at the window was lackluster as well. On the positive side, the food was decent. Having worked in fast food myself, I understand it can be challenging, but it would be nice to see more effort in providing better customer service.

This was the worst experience I've ever had at Cookout. The drive-thru speaker kept cutting out, and we had to ask them to repeat our order several times. They also forgot to include an order of chicken nuggets. The dining room was closed, so we had to wait for an employee to notice us or go through the drive-thru line again. We ordered an Out West Double burger, but the patties were the smallest I've ever seen at Cookout, and they were cold and dry. I've been a longtime fan of Cookout, but I definitely do not recommend this location.

Had both drive thru lanes opened, but only took orders on one. Had to loop around to get in the other lane. Didn't have any sweet tea, 4-5 hours before close, or water bottles. Did give me a cup of water instead though. Serve was polite. Seemedslightly understaffed. Food was great for the price.

I got a caramel fudge milkshake. It tasted like a good chocolatey shake. I would have liked a little more caramel taste. It was so thick I had to use a spoon. A little too thick. Since I was driving. My daughter was enjoying her shake with a spoon whileall I could do was drive home and try to drink it there. It was a half hour drive and still had to use a spoon for most of it.Some people may like fighting a milkshake to get it through the straw....I dont.
