Each dish came with a generous amount of spits, so make sure to consider that when ordering. We tried the lamb (6 spits), wagyu beef (4 spits), scallops (2 pieces), and needle mushrooms (3 spits). The meat was perfectly cooked and had a delicious flavor, with just the right amount of spice for most palates. The mushrooms had a fantastic charred texture that we loved. In addition to the BBQ, we also ordered a refreshing seaweed salad and a serving of chicken with mushroom noodles. The meal was rounded off nicely with these dishes, leaving us fully satisfied by the end.
If you're in search of traditional Nordic cuisine, look no further than Chinese Skewers BBQ in Ashfield. Located on Liverpool Rd in the heart of Ashfield, this cozy restaurant offers a warm and neighborly atmosphere. While not overly large, there are plenty of tables available to accommodate guests. The restaurant is popular with locals and serves up some delicious dishes. During our visit on a Sunday evening, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The menu, which is laminated and comes with a marker, allows guests to easily select their desired dishes.
This is slightly off the beaten track as far as Chinese goes, being North Eastern in origin, and so based on Manchu, Hebei and Shandong roots. Unlike southern Chinese with lots of rice and shiny, oily staples, this cuisine is wheat and maize based, hence the dumpling and noodle emphasis. In fact there is no plain rice on the menu- only fried! The skewered goods are interesting but keep your glasses on and watch those carotid vessels inside and out! The right etiquette is to push the foods off the skewers before attacking rather than eating straight off the steel skewers like you would a tamer satay stick. There is skewered pork, belly chicken, including chicken wings (Yumm!), gizzards and prawns, even vege options like tofu. All have different textures and natural tastes but all are seasoned with cumin, more cumin and chilli powder, which you can tone down. It would be nice to offer a variety of seasonings. The dumplings and wontons were delicious.Great hand-pulled noodles. Oh and it would be nice for them to turn on the aircon rather than leave the door open for flies.
My girlfriend and I were pretty hangry by the time we sat down to dinner, so we ordered a fairly extensive range of food, starting with Gyoza, Tako Yaki,
1st came here Sunday night and decided to something different, never having had Ramen in my life.
