Sushi Railway - Ascot

In case you haven't been to a restaurant like this, the idea is simple. You sit around the horseshoe shaped counter along which runs a small 'railroad', onto which the chefs who are busily at work on the inside, regularly add a newly made disk. Dishes are colour-coded to indicate the price, which varies a little, but I visited at the weekend when all cost the same. The selection changes all the time and, we soon found out, you can ask to have something made that is on the menu but not currently on the 'railroad'. What was remarkable was the quality of the food. For a modest price four of us had a delightful and varied dinner with sushi, sashimi, tempura and more. The chefs were eager to show off their creations and would explain what they were if you asked. I believe there are others in the chain but this was the only one I came across. The only downside was that the drinks, beer, wine or sake, were over-priced.

I sometimes stay in this area and this is the closest Sushi that also happens to be open whenever I've been looking for food.

No menus to choose from and limited range of dishes on the "train" (Sorry, I need a menu to order sushi)..

The best sushi train in Brisbane, and I've been to a lot of them! I eat here weekly and it's fantastic.
