Our server kept coming back to check on us, which was nice and at the appropriate frequency. Overall, I very much enjoy this restaurant and we probably should go more often. If tapas is your thing and you are in the Northwest suburbs then make a point to stop there.
Excellent selection of hot and cold tapas. Delicias Andalusas (6 stuffed dates wrapped in bacon and quick-fried, with tangy-sweet tomato-based sauce) is a particular favorite. Be sure to check the daily specials page. We had a Spanish crab cake which was delicious. The champinones Barcelona (4 mushroom caps stuffed with spinach, cheese and pine nuts, served with a saffron sauce) is always excellent. The small plates, pricier, are with the money. Filete Romesco (beef filet in Romesco sauce, with grilled asparagus) is excellent. The beef filet with Cabrales blue cheese sauce is terrific. Good selection of Spanish wines, albeit at restaurant prices. Daily flan specials are always interesting, we recently had coffee-flavored flan, quite good. Fly in the ointment is the extra charge for credit cards. A couple of extra percent, but annoying nonetheless. Otherwise highly recommended.
Very good meal and experience all around. Have always enjoyed their red house Sangria. We had 3 small plates; one with tuna, one with octupos, and one was the bacon wrapped dates along with the gezpacho. Each one was flavorful and well prepared. The service was execellent and the ambianne i quite nice although a bit loud. One of our favorites and we will continue to come back.
We had a lovely time, great service and delicious dinner . Only downside was the very loud music , gave more a sports bar vibe than a Tapas restaurant ....
Not very tasty. Rice dish had a plastic smell to it and tasted even worse. Told the waiter and did not take it off the bill. Will not be back. Mesan Sabika much better.
