Rita's Italian Ice - Apple Valley

The Mango Italian Ice was absolutely delicious, a perfect treat on a hot day. The restaurant offers a wide variety of vegan options, as listed on their Allergen Chart on their website. Vegan options include all 50+ Italian Ice flavors (except Chocolate Chocolate Chip), all natural ice flavors, all sugar-free ice flavors, and vegan toppings such as apple pie filling, brownie batter bites, cookie dough bites, maraschino cherries, OREO cookies, peanuts, and strawberry topping.

I first tried Ritas many years ago in Delaware and Pennsylvania. These fruit-infused Italian ice treats have slowly made their way to the west coast. While staying in Eagan and looking for vegan options, I stumbled upon this new establishment. I treated myself to a large watermelon and juicy pear combo, which was delicious and perfect for hot summer days in Minnesota. Just a heads up, the ices are very sweet so a large size was too much for me. I'll opt for a small next time. The flavors change daily and not all options may be available. They now offer custards on their menu, but unfortunately there are no vegan-friendly options available just yet.
