Mr. Dumpling - Apex

I visited this restaurant twice. The first time was fine, but nothing amazing. The second visit was disappointing. The spicy soup was really good and packed with mushrooms, and the assorted dumplings were edible, but they all tasted pretty much the same – just okay. The real letdown came when we ordered a dish and were told 15 minutes later that it was unavailable. When we asked for a vegetarian option, we were offered something that surprisingly contained undercooked meat. That left us feeling quite uncomfortable. I’m not sure if I’ll go back for a third visit. The place itself is spacious, but the air conditioning was broken, which the staff did inform us about.

The eggplants and basil were served in a beautiful black kettle, accompanied by a side of rice. While the kettle did an excellent job of keeping the broth warm, it ended up being a bit too hot to eat comfortably, which forced me to dilute the flavor with water. Although it was spicier than I expected, the excessive temperature made it difficult to fully savor the dish. Overall, I had a great time and I'm looking forward to returning to try more of their delicious offerings.

Had the beef in Hot Garlic sauce with roasted rice, scallion pancakes and sorted dumplings. The Scallion Pancake is amazing crispy happyness! Beef in Hot Garlic Sauce is really good: just the right amount of spices mixed with vegetables with delicate beef. dumplings are beautiful and unique, although some flavors are aliens for my American born and elevated palette. The Dine in service was great, just a few people in Din. Very much to do to do business while I've eaten all the time.

I dined in and ordered the beef noodle soup in brown sauce. The food was delicious, the noodle soup tasted great. It was the right amount of spice. The service was great too! They were quick to take my order and I didn?t even have to wait that long either.

The Chinese food here is excellent and authentic. Although we didn't try the dumplings, we sampled the Crispy Beef Stuffed Pie, Leek and Egg Stuffed Pie, Wontons in Chicken Broth, and Hot Oil Seared Noodles. Everything was fantastic, making this one of the best Chinese restaurants in the RTP area. The only aspect that could use improvement is the staffing; there were only two waiters during our visit, and it was clear they were a bit overwhelmed. While we didn’t have to wait long for our food, I believe increasing the number of staff would enhance the overall experience.
