We had the dynamite scallops and ahi poke to start, and we all had the halibut special for our main. It is pricey, but the fresh seafood warrants it. Highly recommend, and my guests were pleased impressed with the choice.
Our table was perhaps too close to the next table. Party next to ours was exceedingly loud and annoying. GD staff were accommodating in finding another location for us. We appreciate that
I had not dined at the Gandy Dancer since COVID, as this is my first time being back in A2 since. Waleed was an amazing waiter. He was very attentive and friendly, yet also allowed us to have some private time over our meal. The shrimp with artichoke linguine had a unique tomato based sauce. Shrimp was tender and portions was quite large. It was nice to receive the bread and crackers with the salmon spread, which dates back many years to the C. Muir days. We were excited to have 2 trains pass by while dining. All in all, Dane and his crew did an excellent job in allowing us to feel welcomed and have a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend the Gandy Dancer, for any occasion. Food, service and ambience were superb. I am visiting for only 1 month but I shall return several times to sample other entries.
The dinner service was quick. We asked the server to space our time for delivery. It was not. We were told the kitchen was ready to cook and they did. We were looking for a leisurely dinner but got fast food? Food was very tasty and the bar was great.
The food and service were excellent. However, we notified them via the reservation as well as the principal server that we were celebrating my wife 's birthday. The reservation form even asked specifically about the event. The result: nothing. No birthday cake, no free dessert, no card. Nothing. That was disappointing since even lesser restaurants generally offer some sort of celebration .
