We ended up waiting nearly two hours for our shrimp calabash crab cake sandwich. To make matters worse, I had to go to the bar myself to ask for tea refills, and when mine finally arrived, it had no ice. Our server never once checked in on us during our meal. A young girl who wasn’t our server brought our food and practically slammed it on the table before walking away. When we tried to get her attention to explain that we were missing our sides, silverware, and napkins, she dismissed us huffily. Although we eventually received our missing sides, the fries were cold and mushy, and the hushpuppies were so hard they were inedible. Additionally, I noticed one of the servers sitting on her phone and smoking between trips to her three tables, and I never saw her wash her hands afterward. We wanted to leave as quickly as possible, so I had to go back to the bar to ask for our check and pay. By the end of our visit, we had already spent almost two and a half hours there. We definitely won’t be returning.

I love the atmosphere of this place. It's rustic and basic but a gem perched above the Greenbrier River. There was a staffing issue the day we went and our server was running ragged and stressed. Common occurrence everywhere these days though. I'm concerned about the future of this restaurant due to some rumors I heard about it possibly going up for sale. I'm not sure if it would retain its backwoods charm if Mr. Brugh wasn't managing it.
