Like all takeaway places some days are going the be better than others. So after the first venture we gave it another shot. On both visits the food lacked taste, texture and any real flavour. Think we'll give this a miss for the third visit.
First time deciding to order through a new Thai delivery on Menulog and we were most pleasantly surprised. The order was delivered early by a friendly smiling driver, the food was hot, fresh, and wonderfully flavoursome. Definitely a must try and definitely will be ordering again. Thank you
After a full day of study followed by a trip to Westfield Chermside, I was looking for a simple meal to have on the way back to my hotel. Kow Thai was in the right location so I stopped in. It is a small cafe and takeaway, but very pleasant with friendly staff. I ordered Stir Fry Vegetables in Peanut Sauce and was not at all disappointed. It was tasty and plentiful for only $13.90. It was just perfect for my needs that evening with just the right amount of spice. Thank you Kow Thai!
Asn't going to offer a review for Kow Thai, but after reading someone else state that it is overpriced, I feel I need to go in to bat, for the nice people here. Is it authentic Thai - no it is not. But nor are most of the ethnic restaurants in most western countries. I would not consider Kow Thai as the place to make a marriage proposal, and it is not suited for large numbers of dinners. But yeah it is a goodie. There is no need to book here, it is BYO and terrific value. The staff are very friendly, but they don't really understand what great service is, but that has never worried me to much in going here, as quite frankly it is so quiet, you can easy give them a friendly reminder. I know that sounds weird, but it is more like eating out at friends place than eating in a large commercial establishment. The curries and the stir fries are mostly all good. I have not tried one of their salads, as I see someone else has commented on, but I would believe them , that it is not the place to order a salad. Some of the meals are a bit heavy on the coconut milk, which surely makes some of them yummy, but I wouldn't want to be counting your calories on those dishes.I think the restaurant really lacks to get the numbers of dinners, mainly because of the limited parking out the front, and the fact the busy road takes puts the city workers returning from work on the other side of the street. There is a small parking lot out the back (but if you leave your car there, the mid aged hair dresser leaves a note on your window). There is reasonable parking on the side street, with some good spots on driveways that are not used. I could best describe Kow Thai, as a great little suburban restaurant, that is really suited for med groups or couples, or as a rippa little local that is easy to pop into mid week,if you don't want to cook at home. BYO and VFM.
