HK Cafe Albany

A very unassuming restaurant on the high street. Food is amazing, excellent quality and tasted authentic, cooked by a Chinese lady, incredible! Its basic interior but don't let that fool you. Great value for money, highly recommend, its BYO.

We frequently acquire take-away here, as do a surprisingly high number of our local friends, and occasionally dine in. Across five years, my coeliac dairy-intolerant better half has not had a bad experience. The only time service has been other than above average is during ridiculously busy tourist seasons (and in those times, every eatery is limited).

We've dined here on several previous occasions. The food is always good and there's a steady stream of takeaway customers. We like to sit outside when the Albany breeze is not too strong. One comment though food is delicious, it is often a bit too cool when delivered to table. My husband got them to microwave his, and was much happier with it!

I called in here for lunch one day and had a great meal. I went for the chicken curry with egg fried rice, it was very good.

We had a seafood basket each. The servings were not huge and the fish was dry. It also took quite a while to be cooked. No complaints about the service or the range. One of our group was catered for with vegetarian options.
