Halibut Time Fish Chips - Ajax

I used to come here with my family all the time . But the new owners are stingy. Very small portions since they took over.

The service and food is below standard since the new owners took over. They are also cooking meat products and veggie/fries items together. If you are vegetarian DO NOT EAT HERE.

I phoned ahead to order fish and chips and I was asked to come in the back door and pay cash. He said the debit machine was down, ok that seems normal, it happens. The back door part was weird, but I told the guy to hold on a sec to make sure I had the cash. I came back to let him know it was no problem and he hung up. So fine, that's the last time I call. I of course did not go to pick anything up. Who knows what the heck was going on that I was asked to go to the back door, with no explanation. That is not a way to treat customers. No time for Halibut Time.

Obviously new owners have taken over. This used to be a great place for fish and chips, but the past two times, it has been truly awful. Greasy, extremely thin fish fillets that taste nothing like halibut, the gravy is brown sludge. Last night it was horrible, the grease clearly needs changing. $30.05 for two fish, one chips, a small gravy and onion rings. The waitress had my husband go back to the car when he was a nickle short. Another great place bites the dust. Switching over to Halibut House from now on.

Had a craving for fish and chips so I looked for one in Ajax Fish and chips were okayHalibut I got was very thin.
