Mae Haad Bay Resort

This resort is very good. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was big and nice,cleaned enough. The nearest beach was good for a walk They have a really good hospitality. A very memorable experience was their finding my lost cash and kept it. I really appreciate that.

Rooms and swimming pools are good. However, the restaurant food for breakfast and other meals could be much better. Breakfast does not have lots of options and sometimes bread is hard and dry. For dinner, we ordered bbq seafood and it case way undercook. The bbq squid was not clean and it was cooked with all its organs and cartilage inside, they cooked longer for us but the runny inside parts funnies our dinner, they also charge you 10% service fee. Location is good in terms of the nice sunset and beaches but it is very far from the piers. We opted for hiring a car to move around the island since we have small children. Food options around the resort can also be limited.

Would not recommend. 1 star service at 4 star prices. The restaurant staff are friendly and accomodating but the front of desk may as well not exist. Rude and unhelpful.

We have stayed 4 nights during NYE so the stay was pretty pricey for the quality we have seen. The room was dirty and not really when we have arrived at 3 PM. The balcony full of sand and ants, fridge was frozen, but full of water, bed sheet not ironed, flat surfaces very dusty. I have asked few times to remove dust it never was done. The shower water wasn’t always warm nor having a good pressure. On the second day the room was not made until I came back in the evening and complained. Breakfast very strict hours 8 10. I came around 9 and most food was gone. I have asked to stock up few times it took at least 30 min to get new veggies or cheese plate. Waitresses were not too nice nor happy. Felt unwelcome. Pool some hotel guests leave their towels on the sun beds in the morning and leave for few hours not giving a chance to other guest to use sunbeds. I am not sure why the hotel allows it. The hotel offers last shuttle bus for an extra fee, but if you won’t book it few days in advance you might not get a seat as they only have few during a day. They also are not allowed to call another taxi, if you need one. I suggest finding your own transportation because the staff isn’t too helpful in finding solution. Laundry they offer such service within 10 or 4 hours, but bare in mind that laundry isn’t open 24h, so if the housekeeping won’t do the room in the morning you won’t get your laundry until next day.
