The Rough Meat Company - Zutphen

Unfortunately we look back on our night out at RMC with some disappointment, especially the food. We took the 'of everything ' board as a starter and it was still reasonable, but many standard specialties (Serrano, Coppa di Parma, etc. and also something from 50? pickles. However, the disappointment came with main course. I wanted to unpack and ordered the dry-aged USA rib-eye (note, €49 and my partner the hamburger. The Rib-eye had something like 3 grill marks on both sides and was otherwise completely white, as if it had been cooked, no coloring. Garing was medium-rare oddly enough. The taste was mainly salty, a lot of salt, with some loose salt flakes on top. I like 'heavy flavored ' but this was way too much. When I passed this on to the service, she would pass it on to the kitchen , but nothing else was heard. The burger bun was half burnt/black on the top and inedible. Het eten was heerlijk. Alleen duurde het 2.5 uur voordat wij ons hoofdgerecht kregen. Er werd nauwelijks tot niet gevraagd of wij wat wilde drinken. Na afloop word er gevraagd of wij nog een dessert of koffie willen. Na een half uur word de kaart gebracht. Vervolgens komt er geen bediening meer voor het opnemen van de bestelling. Very nice place, the meat is extremely delicious. I took a **** rib eye , and I don 't regret my choice. The price is worth it. For cons the fries were a little mealy, but nothing alarming. I put 4 stars for the service because the server made a mistake (when he noted on a notebook) cooking for the meat of one of us. The wait is a bit long when you ask for bread again, for example. Despite these small irritants, I strongly recommend this restaurant for the meat and also for the atmosphere.
