La Pausa - Zuia

We had something to eat here today en route to Bilbao from Logroño.We were pleasantly surprised,very nice selection of snacks or hot meals, everything was really nice.The staff were very pleasant,a nice choice of sitting in or out and a very relaxing place for a break.Will definitely visit again.

The meal we had here was exceptional value for money. It is just off the autovia and so does not ear into travle time!! Excellent value for money.

The La Pausa Restaurant at AS Hotel Altube Nord has a namesake at Altube Sud (where there is no Hotel and indeed at other facilities around the Spanish motorway network, This individual La Pausa within the Hotel has limited opening hours and comes to life in the evening, when it is a popular choice. The Restaurant in past years had a complicated Menu and unhelpful waitstaff. Since those drear days the Restaurant has had a makeover (as has the Hotel improved layout and decor, willing pleasant staff and a new Menu. La Pausa has choices from a Basic Card along the lines of Menus del Dia, and a Menu Gastronomico which as the name implies offers repast on a somewhat elevated level. From the Gastronomic card we chose starters of Langostinos delicious and plentiful langoustines; the mains of Merluza (Hake and Langosta (Lobster were expertly cooked and well presented and for desert (or Pudding as some Restaurants disconcertingly and inaccurately call it we had good quality Flan and Ice Creams. The wines were emminently quaffable, the food rather good the Service faultless and all for a very reasonable cost. We dined late evening Monday 19 September.
