Rice Up! - Zuerich

Went to get a quick bite at the Zurich HB location at 8:35 pm (They close at 9 pm). I always make sure to get to a restaurant well before their closing time and order quickly. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the staff who was serving us told me that they are closing and we need to order quickly. Fair enough. They were out of a lot of the items, understandably so. So I picked whatever worked for me. All this is happening in under 1 minute. All the time while filling up my bowl, the staff member kept on telling that they need to close and that they will be charged/fined if they don't close on time. I wasn't the only customer there but definitely the one who this was being told to. She must have told me this at least 5-6 times. We decided to eat on one of the tables along with 2 other customers. The staff member came running to me before I could even sit and told me we need to eat fast and make it quick in under 5 minutes. Nothing was told to the other 2 customers. It was very unwelcoming and humiliating. Oh, and she had also asked me if I would be okay paying CHF 17 for my food in a rather condescending tone. I was with my senior parents and this entire experience was rather insulting.

Food are great but the service is poor, unfriendly staff, I choose the things I like, they put so little amount, I asked him to put a little more extra rice (not minding to pay extra as I always buy from Winterthur and stadelhofen branch) but the staff looked at me like really mad and then he continue to put so little to other stuff I choose. I hope this could be improved as I’ve heard bad other stories about the service.

Good amount of food for less than 20CHF. The vegetarian tofu cashew bowl was very flavorful. I loved that the seasonal veggie was asparagus today. I appreciate that the takeaway bowl is not plastic (the lid is though . If you can use sticks, I think you can also avoid the plastic spoon and fork;

The food is just awesome.This was my first experience with Rice up and it was good.The staff is really nice and helpful. You can customize your rice bowl as per your taste and everything they add is full with flavors. Very quick service, and always busy. There is a queue, but not so much of waiting time. I would definitely try it next time I am visiting Switzerland.

Very mediocre food. Overcooked, since it's standing on a heated plate for very long before you get to consume it. The combination of tastes didn't really fit together that well. Wouldn't go back tbh.
