Hotel-Alte Schmiede - Zirl

After our hike from reither peak we wandered through the village and found this restaurant. the waiting staff were funny, friendly and attentive. we ordered a traditional white carving and a venison stew. both were delicious! the venison was tender and cooked, according to my preferences., medium rare, with touches of tweebel rings, valley flowers and kartoffel wedges. the white carving was better than the norm in a regular beer garden; it was tender and served with delicious cranberry sauce. the potato salad was creamy and a generous portion. a great culinary experience. we would highly recommend!

We arrived after midnight. because of snow the roads were limited. we went there to snowproof. the hotel owner was so accommodating to us. we called and he met to let us in. we had a very comfortable room/apartment with kitchen. the bedroom was comfortable. Only...negative: the hand towels were small and crispy....can be softer.

The location, the professionalism of the staff, the food are really to be praised. we have been going since 2000 and it's always a pleasure for our palate . to try absolutely the snails, the dumplings. but everything is good. exceptional professionalism of the waiter: That speaks Italian.

It's only about 150 meters from the railway station this family owned hotel serves traditional Tyrolean food easily alongside the more international dishes. There is free parking and the staff speak 4 languages The staff were friendly and helpful. It's located close to a lake in which you can swim. Guests can receive reduced green fees at the local golf club

Beautiful dining room and cozy terrace. eating was very fine and the service excellent.
