There were 16 in the class and we made red and green salsas, chiliquiles, enchiladas and tortilla soup. Fantastic. Also there was agua de Jamaica (hibiscus water to drink...absolutely delicious. Monica was a great teacher and shared some of her abuela's secrets ; Her outdoor kitchen is homey and after we chopped and stirred and ate our results. A lovely morning, all in all.
Four of us did a cooking class with Monica and had such a good time. We learned some things we did not know about preparing peppers and we were all treated to a wonderful lunch that we had helped prepare. I will certainly plan to do another class here next time in Zihua!
Took classes from Monica this year and last year. Use her sauce recipes whenever making enchiladas. Like green sauce the best. Loved Chile Rellenos class this year. Can't wait to make them at home.
The market visit was very informative and interesting. The class was fun and the food prepared was absolutely brimming with flavour. Monica was a great instructor and met everyone's dietary needs. The only regret was that we didn't attend the first week we were there as we would have known about the market the locals shop at. The fish and produce was much fresher. Thanks Monica for a wonderful food experience.
We had heard good things of this restaurant and had heard the nice music many times as we went by, so recently gave it a try. I must admit, I did like the variety of their sauces that were served, however there was little or no explanation what they were. THe place has a reather low light atmosphere, and a busy menu. The drink menu was better than usual, but other than being strong, the drinks were rather medium. The service was varied as some staff were really trying to please while others were on the slow side.
