Marche Escale - Ziguinchor

Smaller and less famous than the Marché Boucotte, this market is a good place to get some great deals for fresh fish, vegetables and other (mostly) fresh things. If you have little knowledge about the French language, you are still not afraid to go there, as there is always someone who can help you with the language limit. And even if it doesn't seem so, first place, people are really nice and helpful!

Marche Escale is the upper class market in Ziguinchor. It is much smaller than most of the other markets in the city and caters more to tourists and the rich. The produce is of a slightly better quality than what you can find in other markets, but there is a corresponding higher price. Be careful of those hare more than willing to take advantage of you.
