After a very warm welcome we went through the farm and our enthusiastic guide explains everything about a wide range of fruits and spices, we could also try and smell. After passing through the farm for two hours we were offered fresh coconut, mango, pineapple, tea and so one. One of the highlights was the delicious lunch that was cooked with many ingredients of the farm! After that we could buy some spices in the shop! Absolutely fair and reasonable price we would come back here!!
We had a very nice experience in The Hill spice farm. The place is beautiful and quiet and the guides are good and friendly. We ended up with a bouquet of samples of spices, and had a fruits and Zanzibar Coca-Cola degustation. Compared to some other experiences on the island, it's worth the price. Thank you Muhamed for the tour!
We had a great time at Kidichi Spice Farm! First the owner of the farm and his family gave us a cooking class and showed us how to prepare a typical local dish (Pilau, Sauce, Fish, Sweetpotatoe greens and veggies). While we waited for the Pilau, a farmer gave us a tour of the premises and we tried many spices and fruit everyone was really generous and we had the lychee feast of a lifetime! Afterwards we had lunch together, tried some more Tea and Juices, bought some spices for reasonable prices and went home with a basket of fruit and good memories!
We visited the farm few days ago with a couple of friends. We booked in advance for a cooking class too. We arrived at the farm at 9h30. It was AMAZING !!! First, we were warmly welcoming by Siso and the rest of the team. Then, we stayed with Ridhwan, the cooking chef. He teached us all the steps to cook Pilau with tuna fish. This experience was really funny and interesting even if it was a little bit long (maybe 2 hours), but normal, sometimes cooking takes time. During the Pilau finished to cook, we went to visit the farm with Khamis. He is very friendly and funny, we learned and laughed a lot. The farm is big and it was really pleasant to walk around. We tasted different fruits and spices. Khamis really takes time to explain and respond to all our questions. The tour takes around 1h30. At the end of the tour, we ate Pilau with the staff. It was de-li-cious ! It was very satisfying and nice to eat all together. After a plate of fruits and a little photo shoot, we've been to the spice shop and buy a lot of spices for cooking Pilau again and again. This is really something to do if you come in Zanzibar. But careful, there is a lot of spice farm around. One of them has a sign very similar to Kidichi Spice farm but it's not the right place if you want to live this experience. I highly recommend this one !
Was a good tour, the guide knew his plants and what they were used for. You don't see the farm as such it is more like someone's backyard with one or two examples of spice trees that they use to show you, more plants of small stuff like lemon grass and ginger but I would have like to see the farm operation as well
