Outdoor premium dining at Sails In The Desert resort- a little bit pricey, but worth every dollar. The chef was wonderfully accommodating, and veganised the Turkish bread with hummus, dukkah sesame seeds, which was unbelievable. How can something so simple taste so good? Sadly, they were sold out of the lentil kofta, so I ordered up sides- the sweet potato with black rice, marinated olives and the cauliflower with celeriac sauce were all amazing. I am still gobsmacked at how ordinary the dishes looked, but how deceptively delicious they were to eat. Highly recommend! Updated from previous review on 2022-08-13
The restaurant was absolutely wonderful, with a menu thoughtfully crafted to include vegan options! I had the yellow lentils served with grilled sweet potatoes and a beach sauce. The lentils had a nice kick from the curry-style preparation, perfectly complemented by the sweetness of the tubers and the crunchiness of the succulents. I also enjoyed the salt bush olive dish, which I paired with a glass of NSW Shiraz.
The vegan options are somewhat limited, but the burger is quite nice! It features vegan cheese and aioli, which is tasty. If you're staying here, you can order the burger through room service!
We had an outstanding vegan meal here. The portions are perfect for sharing with at least one other person. We enjoyed the sweet potato lentil kofta and the cauliflower, and both dishes were delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
