I started with a chilled carrot soup that was spectacular. my daughter enjoyed a nice flat steak while I had the traditional white sausage. the side of the fresh heirsen rounded off the wonderful meal. the attentive staff.
We celebrated a special birthday here for lunch. we chose bouchon because we had dimmed here and enjoyed our time here in a very general way. Unfortunately, the second time was not the charm. we had to ask the staff twice to remove our dishes and refill our glasses. the love for detail lacked and if the restaurant is only half full, this is simply not acceptable. for a more positive note that eating was very good, but it means little when they sit at the table, wait for over 10 minutes for their teller to be deleted before someone ask to delete their table. twice.
Maitre d’ was quite rude. I have better and more expensive restaurants all over the world, but they don't have this job. the restaurant is loud and you have to press to get into your table. the food was average. we had worries soup, diables, escargot, lachs and idaho trout. they are tasteless. I wanted to go to the kitchen and improve my eating. then I became sick at night because there was only too much butter and oil.
This would have been an Excellent review, if not for the Maitre d'. The food and table service were great and the atmosphere was vibrant. It was our wedding anniversary dinner, planned and booked one month in advance. We were excited as we traveled from Texas to experience Napa Valley and have our dinner at Bouchon. When we checked in, the Maître d' looked around and immediately placed us in the bar area and not the dining room (with table cloths She didn't even ask us if we wanted to wait for a table, which we would have. No, she just sat us in the bar area. This is not what I would call good service! I expect much better from a Thomas Keller restaurant! I'm sorry to report this, but the restaurant needs to know. Again, the wait staff was great and the food excellent.
Have been visiting the Napa Valley for years and have been a regular at the Bouchon bakery multiple times for each visit and needless to say we love it. And we were so looking forward to The Visit to this michelin star restaurant. And we were beyond underwhelmed. I will start with the service. Considering that this is a missile and star restaurant one would think the service at least would be impeccable. That was far from the case. I wish I got the server's name so I could comment about him as he was quite unprofessional.. I mentioned at a point in time early on our dinner that the kitchen was very slow very slow and his comment to me was that this is a busy restaurant. I was pretty shocked. I wasn't complaining but I expected something other than that. We got the escargot and it was adequate but certainly not outstanding. We also got the salmon tartar appetizer that was beautiful but actually had very little flavor. And I'm not going to go into the details of our entries other than to say they were below average. This was just a very sad dining experience for us. Nobody came to check on us the check on us no host came to make sure that we were satisfied nobody seemed to care that we were there.. This was purely a negative experience and they should be ashamed of themselves for this
