Ontario House, Aka Stone Jug

Drove all the way from Williamsville to try something new. Didn 't get to try anything besides 1 drink from the bar (actually came to eat). Walked in and kind of stood around ... no signs or staff to guide you to a table. Eventually the bartender told us grab a table. We sat a while at the table. No one came over, not even to give us a menu. Eventually we got up. Got a drink and menus from the bar. Sat back down. The waitress served food to the table behind us. Never came to us. She came back to give them ketchup or something. Again, didn 't come to us. When another group came in and sat down, we said to each other if they get waited on before us, we 're out . Sure enough, she came right over to them. We were there a total of 30 mins. Never again. Waste of time and gas. Was welcomed and served great food and drinks a few minutes away at Bandanas!

The restaurant is now under new ownership, and they offer an impressive menu. You absolutely must try their Reuben logs – they are homemade and simply delicious. Everything we tasted was fantastic, including the burgers, Gut Bomb, wings, chicken fingers, wraps, and salads. The service was excellent as well. It's located on Main Street in Youngstown, housed in an old historic building. You can choose to sit on the wraparound porch or inside. While it’s not overly fancy, the charm of the old building adds to the experience. They even have rooms available for rent upstairs.

My wife and I went on a Sunday afternoon. It's a cool place but the food was incredible. I ordered a beef on weck and it was really good. And very reasonably priced too.

I had a wonderful experience at The Stone Jug with my family during our visit to Youngstown. Everything, from the atmosphere to the food and service, was exceptional. One of the highlights was the entertainment in the backyard; each night featured fantastic performers. The food was also outstanding—our favorites included the sweet potato fries, buffalo chicken wings, and chicken tenders! Additionally, there are some indoor games like darts and a table shuffleboard, while outside you can enjoy Connect Four and Jenga. It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy great food and drinks, and spend time with friends and family!

After reading the previous reviews, I can understand both perspectives. We arrived at the restaurant at 12:35 on a Wednesday, and there were only three men sitting at the bar. We waited for about 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. Unsure of what to do, we decided to simply sit at a table and wait. When the bartender finally came out from the kitchen, he promptly brought us menus and took our drink orders. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, was hot, and quite delicious. During our hour there, only two more men came in, clearly locals. It seems the tourist rush hasn’t begun yet, as that typically starts in late June. Perhaps they are more efficient during busier times, or maybe they focus on catering to regular customers. I can definitely see this place becoming a popular spot for locals on weekends! It’s also possible, like many restaurants these days, that they’re facing staffing shortages.
