The ice cream is made fresh every day, and there are a wide variety of flavors to choose from. The prices are quite reasonable, and the ice cream itself is absolutely delicious.

I visited this walk-up ice cream shop, a childhood favorite of my dear friend with whom I was traveling. We couldn't resist stopping for a couple of big cones of her all-time favorite flavor: chocolate pecan. The ice cream itself was tasty, but it was a bit too soft and almost overly thick. On the bright side, the pecans were whole and lightly toasted, enhancing their delightful flavor, which made the visit memorable. Personally, I was on the lookout for my favorite flavor, rum raisin, but unfortunately, I haven't seen it in years.

There's ice cream and then there's Handel's. Literally, people come from all over the world to taste their amazing ice creams. They've been a staple in Youngstown for decades and just seem to get better each year. The menu is extensive but only secondary as you can order anything on it and find yourself wishing you had opted for a larger size! There's definitely a fifties vibe to all their locations with a helpful staff and fast moving lines. Prices are fair, considering they provide world-class confections!
