Krystos Modern Greek - York

I had the Chicken souvlaki and a Greek salad. The souvlaki was well flavoured and very moist. The staff are very friendly as well. We always enjoy our dining experience here.

We were driving by Kyrstos and very hungry as we had skipped lunch so we dropped in for a very early dinner. Because of the early hour (around 4:30), the place was empty when we arrived although another table came in about 30 minutes later.The restaurant has nice decor, looked spotless and we were seated by the window. Both of us ordered the souvlaki dinners - one pork and one chicken. Prices were a little higher than what we remembered of the greek restaurants on the Danforth but not significantly higher (couple of bucks per entree). Dinner came with salad with a slightly sweet dressing which I liked but my dinner companion did not and garlic pita bread which was delicious and fresh. The main course meat was piping hot and juicy so you could tell it was just freshly cooked unlike some of the other greek restaurants where the meat is precooked and reheated. Main course came with rice which was nicely flavoured and lemon potatoes. We generally do not like the rice that comes with these meals but we both liked this rice. Portions, like most greek restaurants, were generous. It was a nice surprise to find a good greek restaurant outside of the Greek town Danforth area. We would definitely return.Having said that, what's up with all the Greek restaurants with grumpy old men waiters? It would be nice to be served by a friendly face in a Greek restaurant for once :)

We've been hear before so we were very disappointed.Chicken souvlaki very overcooked. hard and dry. Gyros also dried out. Bathroom dirty and one of two sinks had broken tap.The worst part was service. the waiter was rude and disinterested. He muttered curses when we asked for refill of water glass. When we asked for coffee he went off to one side and folded napkins for 5 minutes before bringing back cold coffee..room temperature. when we mentioned the coffee was cold his reply was to drop the bill on table and do nothing about coffeeWaiter was rude to family at next table too.

The place used to be excellent, been going to this location for years. In the past 6 months it has been going down quickly. The food has not been fresh, under cooked (pink chicken) sent back twice and still could not cook properly. Desert was not fresh. Service is not the best. The place could be kept a lot cleaner. Washrooms are dirty. Changes are in need quickly!

The food was absolutely amazing, portions are pretty good for your prices! Staff was fantastic and the restaurant was clean and cute! I would recommend this
