Jake's On Main - York

We had to wait for 15 minutes begire someone came to even clean the table of the former guests. Then there was nonone serving us for another 15 minutes. After complaining twice for not being served we were served with veggie springrolls which absolutely had no taste nor veggies as a matter of fact. The fresh ginger tea we ordered was just a cup of tea with a tea bag with no ginger in it. So neither fresh jor ginger. I would never visit this place again.

I feel like I was violated after my experience here. I just wanted to vomit out the whatever I just ate. I seriously would not feed the garbage they serve here to my dog. Our whole party felt the same way. Absolutely the worst food I've ever eaten and even worse service. This place is run by amateurs who have no interest in customer service or food quality. This food is literally frozen Costco food reheated after recirculating from the dumpster. Don't ever eat here. Ur better off eating at a shelter Better food , better service and food is free. BEWARE !!!

Came here on Saturday night. Limited line up if you come before 6pm. Otherwise, there will be line ups. Great outdoor patio, good service, average food quality. Ordered Lobster Crab linguini , fish and chips, and chicken poutine, they were all decent, but average. Good selections of draught beer available.

At 1:30 pm on Friday, May 13, we were first in line to getting a table at Jake’s. We were seated in decent time, then we sat at our table for 10-12 minutes without anyone coming to our table. No one greeted us to let us know they would be with us soon. There were many servers, no obvious manager, and many food runners. We have lived in Markham for 18 years. This is the worst example of hospitality we have had before, during, and somewhat post- COVID-19. If I could have given a zero rating, I would have.

Jake’s was a fun destination in the past. We would go to Main Street Unionville to walk around, and then look forward to a meal at Jake’s. We have done this for the past 20+ years. The experience has never been as appalling as it was when we went last Saturday. When we walked in we could see leftover food from previous diners left out on patio tables. There were lots of staff standing around, and no one clearing the mess. (I am sure this was a health code violation. It was certainly a gross mess for customers to see). We were a party of 6 and it was a cool evening. They were unable (or unwilling) to give us a table need an outdoor heater, and would not allow us to move inside (even though others were seated there and there were tables available). Instead we were given a wobbly table on wobbly bar stool chairs at one end of the patio. Our sever was not helpful or very friendly. When we were finally able to get her attention we ordered drinks. It took a while for them to arrive, and once she brought them we were already cold and fed up. We threw down a few dollars for the pop (which was mostly ice) and walked out. I don’t recall ever walking out of a restaurant before. We will not be returning. Jake’s is just too run down, and the service was horrible.
