This Japanese BBQ restaurant offers high-quality unlimited options. The staff is always willing to replenish the raw meat and replace the grills. The variety of meats available is also fantastic.
Inspired by traditional Japanese Yakiniku restaurants, 'Gyubee' offers a variety of beef dishes along with seafood, meat, and vegetable options to appeal to a wider range of customers. With Covid restrictions easing, my family decided to dine at this "safe" venue equipped with powerful exhaust fans at each table. The menu featured a selection of high-quality beef such as prime steak, ribs, tongue, chicken thigh, cartilage, and more, as well as seafood, vegetables, and side dishes like Kimchee and cold noodles. The meat marinades and dipping sauces were delicious, with the miso-marinated prime rib steak standing out as a favorite. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty, particularly the tender lamb and steamed clams in Sake and garlic butter. However, the decision to operate at full capacity instead of 50% capacity under current restrictions raised concerns of ignorance or greed.
We visited this restaurant on a Monday afternoon for lunch. We didn’t make any reservations and we were seated right away. The place is very big Inside with a casual atmosphere. There are grills on all the tables. We were seated with a wall on both sides and the table beside us had a thick plastic dividing us. The waiters all wore masks. The lunch buffet was $27.99 but it’s more expensive on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And dinner is $37.99. If you go Friday, Saturday or Sunday be prepared to wait up to an hour to be seated. When you enter the wait staff yells out a greeting and when your leaving they yell out something too. I’m not sure what it is. But you fell welcomed. Anyways you have lots of choices of meats-pork, beef, chicken. The only seafood they had was shrimp. You get a choice of two different rices and also Biminbap. The choices are limited compared to dinner. We had a Melona bar for dessert. I wish there was more choices for dessert. We got a pitcher of pineapple juice $9. When the grates got too messy they would come and change it. Which I like because I’ve been to a place before where it would get too smoky. Our server was so friendly and attentive. I’ve never had a server as accommodating and friendly as this server. He said our time limit was an hour and 45 minutes but he would let us know ahead of time when we reach the limit. We were there 1 hour and 15. I would have liked if we had water with the meal. When you pay they only do debit or cash. If you have no cash there is a cash machine at the front. I don’t understand why they don’t take credit cards. I’ve never been to a place that didn’t have that option. They also have a 12% mandatory tip added which is cheaper than the 15% I usually give. It’s a great experience and worth the visit.
We went here not fully understanding what to expect. This is a one price meal so pace yourself. those in the know have a better idea of what to order. everything came fast and fresh. Lots of food so take you time grilling. There was some language barriers as most of the clientele and servers were Japanese. You should order in small lots and take your time. make sure to order vegetables as well as the tempting meats.
