Couches and patio furniture gives this place a nice engine to sit and relax. With few people willing to splurge on the expensive menu, it's certainly not crowded.Gourmet Bruschetta $19 6 pieces.Thick focaccia flat bread with tomato sauce, bruschetta mix and three cheese. Pretty good.Surf N Turf $51grilled beef striploin and jumbo tiger shrimp with red wine jus, mixed herbs and garlic butter, served with potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Well cooked. Meat had some veins and had some tough areas. Though a single shrimp hardly makes this much of a surf and turf.Torre Di Pisa $31grild vegetable pyramid of egplant, zucchini, red peppers, Portobello mushroom, tomato, with goat and Bocconcini cheeses, served withpenne tomato sauce.HOUSE TIRAMISU $10.50Rich espresso flavoued layers of ladyfingers nestled on a mascarpone cream and.Kahlua topped with tiramisu cream, dusted with cocoa. This was pretty good and at this price, it isn't a bad option to just come for desserts.Overall, it's not bad. Just a bit expensive for what it is. Service was decent.
Great food. Very good friendly service. Only have an issue with lack of transparency with billing and upselling on menu items throughout night.Brought extra bread for big party without ever mentioning bread was at a charge. We asked for one dessert platter and they end up bringing one platter PLUS extra dessert items at waitress' discretion (of course which were charged per item). When reviewing the final bill receipt, truly felt transparency could have been better. We were a bit surprised by the billing.
Food menu isn’t full of options but everything is very well prepared. Ambiance is very comfortable and classy the place is beautifully designed. The only issue we had was with the service staff trying hard to upsell us on everything and then a mix up with the bills. Looking forward to trying here again!
This is my first time coming to Carmelina. We ordered frutti di mare (seafood linguine) and their pasta of the day (mussels fettuccine with white wine sauce). The waitress then asked me if I wanted bread but did not specify if it was complementary which was annoying. She then offered plain bread, garlic bread, or bruschetta. I then had to ask her if they charge for bread. Then the staff member just said it is a la carte but it was not on the menu. Seems to lack transparency. The food itself was pretty good. The portions were reasonable, but proportionally it felt there was not enough seafood in the pasta. For $36 and $32 respectively, there are definitely better options around.During our meal, the waitstaff also did not check on us at all. And promptly brought us our bill after we were done eating without us asking. With this level of service, it made me laugh when I saw 20% being the lowest suggested gratuity on their credit card machine.Overall, it 's okay. I wouldn 't tell people not to go, but I wouldn 't recommend it either
Due to various reason we have not been to Carmelina for some time. We had lunch yesterday and it felt back home again!!!The Pasta, special of the day was Black White pasta with lots of seafood and WOW it was soooo good! If we go to downtown to have this quality and quantily of the meal, it will be easily 50% more of what we paid in here.Claudia is great and so do all the servers! One was there 23 years and this tells us Happy employees, happy customers :D
