Food is 3/5, service is 0/5 cash only here, which is not a problem for me, but after we have spent £70 here, we want to take away a court for a friend because we lack 20p coin,...boss refused to add chili powder in the fried nudel as they charge extra for the addition of chili. the funny thing is that they agreed at the beginning of 20p discount, later came the owner and told us that they changed their mind and we heard that they speak in the kitchen, if you can not afford 20p, not add chili hallo, we have just £70, hallo, 4 of us can understand English, mandarin and cantonese. are you talking about your customers?

Family business authentic hongkong eats well! on the way to edinburgh, stopped in york and found it random. so good.

Food quality and good service, but not exactly romantic atmosphere. eating in the section is practical as the restaurant tends, very busy. the staff is very friendly and friendly. I usually don't go for the soups, but the quality was so. well I couldn't resist it, it was a little on the expensive side, but then, they get what they pay.

An authentic chinese experience and wonderful food especially their char sui pork dishes and my personal favourite is beef with choi sum. My family and I have enjoyed many meals at this little gem of a restaurant since September 2021 wholeheartedly recommend this...restaurant if you value substance over style.

Dishes preserves the best local style. Malaysian style curry, cha siu, steam fish, baked chicken rice with cream sauce on top with cheese, iced milk tea and iced coffee with milk tea...tastes extremely well and even much better than what you get in Hong Kong. For anyone who is in or pass through York, Upper River Restaurant should be one of your bucket list to try. Only cash payment, special dishes such as steam fish and Hong Kong style rice in clay pot should be reserved beforehand.
