This beautiful, historical, classically listed pub is a jewel. full character with a large selection of seating options. visit york and stayed around the week, mid afternoon. the personal was really friendly and the selection of drinks was good; I really enjoyed my few pints by hobgoblin ipa. has actually enjoyed the music. want to return an evening for the advertised live music sessions.

Cozy and large ambiente. among the diverse beer and apple varieties you will find some exquisite local apple wines. they will taste them, however, by asking a half of the pint as they are not offered on 1/3 of the pint, as the beer do. overall a great experience.

Great pub could do with a clean up in places . it has been closed up due to covid tbf )However the food was very tasty and well priced .Well stocked bar is a advantage .Saff worked hard

Lovely atmosphere, good music, good prices and the food is amazing! Had the chilli cheese burger which was absolutely delicious, also had a side of onion rings which were crispy and tasty. Would defo recommend this place.

Nice old character inn with a welcoming atmosphere. Drinks and food are good and competitively priced for the area. Friendly bar staff. Definitely worth a visit.
