The Cat's Whiskers - York

I walked in without a reservation and was pleasantly surprised by the lovely atmosphere and decor. I ordered a coffee, which was good, but let's be honest—our main reason for visiting was to spend time with the cats. They were clearly well cared for, and the staff knew each cat individually. They were also clear about the rules and things to keep in mind regarding some of the cats’ personalities. Overall, it was a fantastic experience—definitely earning a 5-star rating!

I had a wonderful experience at the cat café today with my 10-year-old. It’s a beautifully designed paradise for cats, featuring two floors of seating, including egg chairs for humans and mini chairs for the cats! They also offer delicious cakes and drinks. The staff are fantastic—always willing to chat about the cats and genuinely prioritizing their well-being. The cats appeared happy and relaxed, and we had plenty of opportunities to interact with them. The overall atmosphere of the place was just lovely.

This place is simply fantastic! The owner is so warm and welcoming, and the cats are adorable. The overall vibe is very relaxed, and the food and drinks are outstanding. I highly recommend trying the iced lattes—they're the best I've ever had! I've visited the café several times, and each experience leaves me eagerly anticipating my next visit.

Visited York two weeks ago and discovered there was a cat cafe! The better half is allergic so I went solo as he stayed at the BnB to watch the f1. It has a very cosy and homely vibe. I booked the 2:30 slot and most of them were sleeping, so it might be best to book a morning appointment if you want a better chance to see them in action! I didn't mind though, they looked super cute all snuggled. The staff were very friendly and the tea and flapjack was delicious! They have an extra floor upstairs so plenty of room for you and the cats to move around. They played very relaxing background music. I liked that each table had a little booklet of cats with their name, pic and background stories. They also allow their cats to be adopted which is great. There is a gift shop corner which I treated myself to a keyring. I wish the business all the best as it's such a great cause to give cats a safe space and a chance for a new home!

Fantasic place to visit if you're a cat lover. You get an hour to sit in the place which has comfortable chairs and some tables with chairs. The cats roam freely, and there are some house rules that are clearly stated. No dogs allowed or young children. No disabled toilets. Cakes and drinks are available to purchase while you visit. The staff are lovely and friendly. Great place.
