The portions are quite generous, so make sure to arrive with an empty stomach. While the prices are on the higher side, the large servings help make it reasonable. The fried dishes were delicious without being greasy, which is a plus. The curry had a bit more spice than you might typically expect from Japanese curry and there was slightly too much rice relative to the amount of curry sauce, but overall it was still enjoyable. The service was quick, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They checked for allergies when taking our order, and there were signs throughout the restaurant. The food arrives promptly, and you can choose how to pace your meal—such as having sushi as a starter and other dishes as mains. I would recommend this place to someone who hasn't had much Japanese cuisine or is looking to try new things. There were some minor inconsistencies between the menu descriptions and the actual dishes, but that’s really just nitpicking.

I have visited this restaurant several times and I highly recommend the salmon and avocado roll with scallop on top, priced at £17. The special rolls are slightly more expensive than the classic ones, but they're larger and perfect if you're looking to try something unique. The tea is excellent, and you can ask for a refill at no additional cost. The staff is extremely friendly. I suggest arriving early to avoid long waits for your food when it gets busy.

We absolutely enjoyed the food. My two teenagers are big fans of Japanese cuisine, and we decided to go there based on my son's suggestion. It was a fantastic experience!

Lovely restaurant, brilliant food and friendly staff. One of the best Japanese Food with good size portion. My family loves it so much!!

York gem. Pleasantly surprised, the food and tea were both good. Spacious inside and easy to get a table (though we went late in the afternoon). Tables and chairs are clean, and frequently cleaned. Service is good, no waiting around and very prompt and attentive. Worth a visit and recommend.
