Harkers - York

We wanted a light lunch so we decided to split a fantastic club sandwich. The beer was excellent and the restaurant was spacious and located in the town center, close to all the shops.

Over priced so its not busy. We met friends here just for drinks. The most expensive pub ive been in for a while . One pt Stella and One Sav blanc . Was Over £17 . Lady asked if i wanted ice in the wine so its easnt even properly chilled. Nice bar and clean toilets but i wouldnt return again.

We chose Harkers after reading the reviews, and we were not disappointed! They were not overly busy but had a good amount of people in. We got drinks at the bar and checked that food was being served. Friendly barman said yes and sit where you like. When I went back to order food, I was asked about allergies (brilliant because normally I have to mention it). The lady went off to check and reassured me that the kitchen is cleaned etc. I was also asked to read their little blurb and to press ‘got it’ when I had. When my food was delivered it had a little green flag. Good was piping hot when served, and portions was just right for us. Will definitely call again when in the area.

My partner had the slow-cooked beef rib,shin and pulled brisket pie and I had the wild boar and chorizo pie. . Both were absolutely phenomenal and very reasonably priced . The pastry on both pies were light and very crispy/ flakey just what you want from a pie. The mash was smooth and flavoursome . Me and my partner are both manager of an amazing restaurant in Birmingham and we’re extremely impressed with the food and service. We would definitely visit again .

Visited Saturday afternoon great atmosphere very busy but managed to get a table. Staff helped with food choices and drinks not over expensive. Would recommend this place to anyone thanks guys for your help.
